Welcome to Arghishalee Labradors
April 2018: Bruce - aka Vicford Aladdin Arghishalee (A.I.) acquired his KC Stud Book Number in strong competition under esteemed breed judge, Margaret Coddington (Genisval) with 2nd in Limit Dog at EA LRC Champ Show.
Bruce is a biddable boy, working well with me on my scooter / wheelchair. As well as being a 2nd generation 0.0 hips & elbows, he is DNA clear (N/N) for prcd-PRA, CNM, EIC & HNPK.
He does NOT Carry the Dilution Gene
Based in a beautiful area of South West Wales on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, we are a small kennel who currently have yellow and black Labradors living inside with us (we also have a passion for chocolates when we find the right dog) who live inside with us, and are, first and foremost family pets. I have always had a passion for dogs, spending my teenage years working in a boarding / breeding kennels, growing up with Corgi's and GSD's at home. After a long gap because of personal circumstances, my first dog for nearly two decades was a chocolate labrador bitch. Through her, I fell in love with this wonderful, adaptable breed.
Hally was bought as a pet with no intention ever to breed from, or show her; but times
change, her super gentle nature, wicked sense of fun and almost human
attitude to life saw Arghishalee produce its first litter in July 2007. From
this litter we kept Hope, who joined Clover in the ring in January 2008.
Hally surpassed herself with her first litter, and In October 2008, she gave
us Arghishalee's second litter, from which we kept Bronte, a mischievous
little chocolate girl with the face of an Angel.
Dylan, our gorgeous yellow boy, joined us from Whistletyne Labradors in November 2010. We would like to Judith Keating for allowing this handsome boy to come and live with us, his wonderful attitude to life is a pleasure to live with.
Extensively health tested, he has produced some beautiful babies, and has proven
himself a very polite and gentlemanly stud dog. We now have a beautiful mischievious yellow Dylan Son from the predominantly working kennel Stourmere Gundogs; he is a super star and has taken to the showring like he was born to it. DJ holds a clear eye certificate (Nov 16) and is tested genetically for prcd-PRA, RD/OSD and CNM
Bruce joined us from Vicford Labradors in Apri 2013, we would like to thank Vicki Crawford for allowing this cheeky young man to join us. He joined Dylan in the showring in August 2013 and has delighted us with some excellent results, qualifying for Crufts at 6.5 months, and taking many Best Puppy in Breed and puppy group placings
Bruce delighted us by following in his fathers footsteps with 0/0 hips and elbows, he is PRA clear by parentage, DNA tested CNM, EIC and HNPK clear and holds a current clear eye certificate (to Jan 2017); he is a considerate and competent stud, siring some lovely strong Black and Yellow puppies.
Health Tests
I am a KC Assured Breeder using more than the schemes recommended health tests. All our dogs have been hip and elbow scored and those used for breeding are eye tested annually.
We make full use of DNA tests for Optigen and CNM - our yellow boy Dylan is
genetically clear for PRA, CNM, EIC and RD/OSD. All our dogs used for breeding are also DNA tested for
CNM.
